- La Minita gave me this coffee on the 20th birthday of DoubleShot. I’m always looking for just the right occasion to roast a nice coffee, and our 22nd seemed like just the time. It’s a washed Gesha, grown at the top of Hacienda La Minita in a lot called "El Melico." Smooth is an understatement. As a pourover, the coffee is sweet without the slightest hint of bitterness. It’s not super floral like some of the Panama Gesha coffees, but it comes with a syrupy chocolate and orange profile that distinguishes it from other varieties on the farm. I’m excited to be able to roast this exquisite coffee and serve it throughout the week of celebration. To me, it exemplifies a coffee that’s perfectly suited to be imbibed the way God (and I) intended: BLACK. Happy birthday, DoubleShotters!
