I grew up in a family that drank Folgers, and Community Coffee when we could get it. It wasn't a taste that made me think I'd have a career in coffee. But just after college, I stopped putting sugar in my coffee and started really tasting what I was drinking. And it became apparent that changing the ways I was making my coffee and the type of coffee I was using could make a dramatic difference in the outcome. Along the way, I learned what things are most important in a coffee setup, and even today I continue to learn ways to manipulate the taste of individual coffees I'm drinking at home.
