The Filter Crib just got an upgrade. i've been making cribs for my V60 filters since... I don't know when. The first one I made in the mysterious basement at 18th & Boston. I took tin snips to some sheet metal and hammered it into shape. Then I collaborated with Paul McEntire to make some fancy wood-and-plexi cribs. I brought it back into production with my laser cutter, designing walnut plywood pieces to fit together with slots and tabs. But after my cousin, Cameron started welding large fixtures for us, I got the bright idea to have him make some cribs out of carbon steel. He's using Silicon bronze to weld, giving each joint a slight copper hue. Details, man. If the walnut cribs are like your uncle's pre-fab "cabin" out in Arkansas, this steel crib is his brother-in-law's brutalist condo in Dallas. Are you following me? Just buy the crib and take those filters out of the cheap cardboard copycat box that Hario finally figured out. You won't regret it.
