Panama Momoto Afrissinia Natural

  • For years it was hard to deny that the best coffees in the world were coming out of Ethiopia. But today, you could easily argue that the best coffees are Ethiopian varieties cultivated in Panama. That’s the case with this amazing coffee. The variety, Afrissinia, is a hybrid produced in the Ethiopian highlands. Our friends, Aliss Hartmann and Luis Miranda planted this coffee on their young farm, and this is a tiny micro-lot from their first production. The coffee is extremely dynamic with a pronounced acidity and an unusually heavy body. The richness of flavors extends in complexity with a long, savory finish. This is truly one-of-a-kind.  (photo: Luis, Andrew, and Brian cupping coffees at Finca Momoto)
