Panama Bambito Typica

  • Bambito Estate has become a DoubleShot favorite over the past year, and for good reason. The farm is perched up at a high elevation on the western flank of Volcán Barú. Priscilla Gonzalez and her son Ivan oversee the operations of the farm and ensure the highest caliber of work is performed at every level. Walking through the coffee trees, it is evident that the farm is well-tended and the plants are healthy and green. The microclimate there creates an atmosphere perfect for growing high-quality coffee. This is a washed coffee, clean and savory with distinctly sweet aromatics. The Typica variety is one of the oldest types of coffee to be cultivated outside Ethiopia, having survived a journey from there to Yemen and on to Amsterdam and across the Atlantic to the Americas. Drinking this coffee takes you all the way back to the 1600s, but with major modern influences from Bambito’s farming and DoubleShot’s roasting.
