Guatemala El Tambor

  • Guatemala. First of all, this coffee is 100% Bourbon variety and you can feel it in the intensity of more savory flavors in the cup. It's a washed coffee from a farm called El Tambor. That's the owner, Victor Calderon, in the picture. I got that from one of my brokers, Mercanta, who sold me the coffee. El Tambor means "the drum" in English, and possibly comes from the thrum of an underground river that courses beneath the farm. I sort of wish my name was Victor Calderon. Sounds tough, like he might play an evil villain in a cartoon when he's not tending the farm.
