Honduras Los Piños

  • Honduras is in the midst of a coffee revolution. The country has long been a producer of coffee, but not until recently has it been taken seriously in the specialty sector of the industry. Improvements in agriculture and post-harvest processing has catapulted some of these coffees to the top of the heap, but they remain a good value relative to comparable coffees from other countries. This coffee comes from a collective of farmers who partnered with the De La Finca Marcala Farm Project, which is an experimental teaching farm. There they learned about honey and dry processing. This is a natural of the Catuai variety, a cross of Caturra and Mundo Novo out of Brazil. This lush cup is really a dessert coffee. All day dessert.
