Colombia La Veranera Natural

  • Tolima is a department right in the heart of Colombia’s vast coffee- growing region in the hills and valleys of the Andes Mountains. Parts of this region have been ruled by the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC), and Finca La Veranera was under FARC occupation until 2006, when the Colombian military gained control. The farm is now owned by a producer named Giovanit Gutierrez, who has been experimenting with different processing techniques since 2015. This lot is 100% Caturra, which underwent 160 hours of anaerobic fermentation before being sun-dried on raised beds. Careful monitoring and control over these processes results in a coffee with complexity that grows in the cup as it cools.
