I am on my way to Costa Rica today.
This afternoon I will go to a processing mill and taste coffees from a farm called Hacienda Miramonte. You may remember that I roasted a honey coffee from them a year ago. It just so happened that I met the owner of the farm last year, and talked to her about producing a natural for us. They built some new drying beds on the farm and produced four lots. I'm going to cup them to decide what I want to buy, and then tomorrow I'll go see the farm and get an understanding of what's happening on the ground. 
After that, I'll go to see Minor and his family at La Pastora. If you haven't had this coffee, you need to get down to the DoubleShot ASAP. It's our

Many of you have been asking and wondering how things are going on the new construction. It's progressing slowly, as this first part of preparing the foundation is critically important. But walking around the site yesterday morning wth the outline of the building painted on the ground, it was really a thing to behold. I felt like I could envision the building around me. I'll finish up my trip at La Minita. One of our flagship coffees. This is the first coffee farm I ever visited, and I've been roasting it since day one. La Minita produces what is technically a perfect coffee. And it's easy to see why when I visit the farm. I'm looking forward to seeing old friends, and lacing up my running shoes to put some miles in between coffee trees. 
, which means we have it on pourover and single-origin espresso. The kitchen prepared a cardamom-apricot muffin to pair with the Pastora Natural. It's one of those coffees that has taken me on an emotional rollercoaster on my way to work. Yesterday it reminded me of strawberries dipped in cocoa powder. So good.
