Ethiopia Yirgacheffe Konga Natural

  • Ethiopian coffees. We could almost exist as a roastery solely roasting coffees from Ethiopia. They are so interesting and varied and delicious. When I tasted this Konga, it blew me away. It wasn't fair to the other coffees I was tasting. But sometimes life is like that. It's a natural from the Biloya coop in the Yirgacheffe region. It is produced by the Konga Sede tribe. I don't know anything about these people, except that they made some really good coffee. I wonder if they are descendants of the storied Ethiopian warriors who mixed coffee beans with animal fat as a primitive energy bar while on the warpath. This coffee was grown way up in the mountains around 6500 feet. That's really high for coffee, which produces density in the beans and outstanding flavors. In my opinion, this might be one of those coffees that goes down in DoubleShot history with the likes of MAO Horse, Misty Valley, Aricha, etc. Enjoy it while it lasts!
