The Perfect Cappuccino

Amy Ferraris' movie, "The Perfect Cappuccino" is starting to play at film festivals around the midsection of the country. I haven't seen the final cut, but last I knew the DoubleShot played a pretty good role in the movie.

This Saturday the movie is playing at the Hardacre Film Festival in Tipton, Iowa. If you're in the area (or have a flexible travel schedule), go see the movie. And let me know how it is.

It's also playing at festivals in Houston, Kansas City, and Hot Springs Arkansas. I think.

Congrats to Amy. I'm hoping to get to one of the screenings. You should too.

Coffee in Colorado

I'm in Colorado. Drove out here to run in the Silver Rush 50-mile foot race this past Sunday. You'll be surprised to read that it hurt really bad. But I finished.
I've had some amazing coffee here in Colorado.
And not at Provin' Grounds in Leadville.
Or at Bongo Billy's in Buena Vista.
But at the mobile DoubleShot Coffee station. The Ethiopia Sidamo Koratie is fantastic. It's soft and sweet with a beautiful fruit taste that isn't tart in the least. There's more complexity in it, but that's as good as I can do for now.
I know, it's not on the online store yet. I'll put it up when I get home.
Just wanted to give you the advance warning. Great coffee flowing out of the DoubleShot.

(Now how do we politely show these other stores how to do it?)

Running for Coffee Kids

Every mile I run at the Leadville 100 on August 16 can be another dollar that helps coffee farming families. The Leadville 100 is a 100 mile foot race in Colorado, in which I'll traverse three mountain passes, then attempt to re-trace my route back to Leadville. You can pledge to give money to Coffee Kids based on the number of miles I run at the race.

Go to www.CoffeeIlluminati.com for more details.
And read the Coffee Illuminati Blog to keep up with the goings-on.

Isaiah's DoubleShot Anniversary!

Today is the anniversary of Isaiah's first day working at the DoubleShot.
One year ago this morning, he stepped behind the counter and started kicking my latte art ass. Glad to have him on board and hope this is the first of many years of coffee adventures with the DoubleShot.

Email him a happy anniversary wish:

Rumors of closings

I can't confirm or deny the rumors that a good majority of the 600 Starbucks store closings are due in large part to the excellent coffee produced by the DoubleShot.

I CAN confirm the rumors are true that the DoubleShot will be open for Independence Day.  Hours of coffee this weekend:

Friday 7/4  8a-1p
Saturday 7/5  8a-1p
Sunday SHUT (as usual)
Monday  Resume regular hours
