We're about to do something different at the DoubleShot.

Every six weeks, we switch out the art on our walls with another local artist. This time it's not going to be art so much, as it's going to be my photographs. That's right, I'm hanging a bunch of photos I've taken of coffee and whatnot.

The new "art" will go up on November 26th and I'm having a party here at the DoubleShot on 12/6 from 7p-10p. You should come. It's easy to remember: 12/6 = 2 (DoubleShot). We'll have coffee (of course), wine, snacks, and some music. We'll also be starting a silent auction for the photos, which will last until January 6, 2008.

But this is about more than photos of coffee. It's about a new program that's just started. It's called Coffee Illuminati. There's a website where you can read all about it, but basically we're looking for ways to educate you better about coffee and at the same time enable us to travel to origin more and establish more equitable relationships with the farmers. The proceeds from the sale of the photographs will go to support the Coffee Illuminati, and we hope that many of you will choose to join our group.
