Don't miss this one-of-a-kind, 21-minute fiasco. Dr. Whitenbag and Mr. Michael McBrownBag will be in attendance. Popcorn and coffee will be provided (what a delicious combination!). Bring anything else your heart may desire (as long as it's legal).

DoubleShot Cult

It's funny seeing people I don't know wearing a tshirt with my logo on it. Or DoubleShot stickers on the back windshields of cars. I have successfully created a brand.

But the cooler thing is this. There is a core group of people- many of whom don't even know each other- who experience DoubleShot Coffee Company on a completely different level. They don't like it because it's a cool logo or a cool tshirt or a convenient place to remote office or maybe not even because the coffee is so f-ing good. But they seem to have transcended to a different DoubleShot plane. They consume it. They believe in it. And they celebrate it. I love that.

There are many, many examples from this group- most of which are simply giving me the encouragement to keep going day after day. But here are two special things that made me smile recently.

Jenny Hironaga, a TU student and DoubleShot patron, made this purse, displaying DSCC punch cards (old and new) and java jackets. Nicely done.

And three special friends of DoubleShot recently wrote a song and peformed it at an art and coffee function. Here are the lyrics:

AN ODE
Joanna Craddock and Leslie Easton
Music by Hannah Aitken

I remember the day my fate was sealed
An addiction from which I can never be healed
I walked into that fragrant shop
Little knowing my heart could literally stop

With a life-altering choice I now was faced
I walked to the counter; my order was placed
I took a sip of that Ethiopian brew
In a caffeine fog hearing angels sing "Hallelu"

(Chorus)
This is not just coffee; this is a way of life
Any guy with a number 2 sticker
Could surely get a wife...
These grounds were made in Heaven,
Sent by God to earth-
And even if they kill us it's a price that they are worth

From that day forth my soul was enamored
From that day forth my body was hammered
I keep coming back to 18th and Boston
For a glimmer of hope that isn't much costin'

The glamour and peace of this setting so fine
Make me (almost) love coffee better than wine
I come every day to drink my fill
To study and visit is now my will

Chorus

So, my dear friends, if you don't already know
Doubleshot coffee is the place to go
For friends and fun and an addiction that will grow
And a sticker collection, the world to show
