February 2009 I revisited Costa Rica.  The fine folks at Hacienda La Minita invited me down to the farm again, and of course I accepted.  Three days in paradise seeing familiar places and friendly faces.  And then I was fortunate enough to get to visit a place I’d never been: Hacienda Rio Negro.  It’s a farm the La Minita bought three years ago and have been steadily improving the processes and facilities to produce better coffee.  Rio Negro is Rainforest Certified, so it’s situated in a beautiful, mountainous forest only seven miles from Panama.
